On December 28, 2023, the Xiaomi SU7 electric car was officially presented! It seems that Xiaomi was really not kidding and presented a serious competitor in the electric car market. Is this the future Tesla "killer"? Let's take a closer look at the parameters.
Xiaomi SU7 and SU7 Max
Base, end driven Xiaomi SU7 the model will accelerate to 100 km/h in 5.28 sec., the declared driving distance is up to 668 km and max. the developed speed is 210 km/h. Meanwhile SU7 Max will be much more powerful and faster. This electric car will reach 0-100 km/h in an impressive time - just 2.78 sec., will travel up to 800 km and "squeeze" a maximum of 265 km/h.
Also, more expensive Xiaomi SU7 Max the electric car, which has a power of 495kW, will also feature a more efficient braking system. Xiaomi declares that the stopping distance of this particular model when driving at a speed of 100 km/h to a complete stop at 0 km/h is 33.3 meters, while the base model is 35.5 meters.
As you know, in recent years Xiaomi has devoted a lot of time to its new operating system HyperOS (developed and based on Android), which is designed not only for phones, tablets, smart home devices, but also for the Xiaomi electric car! So, it should be expected that the functionality and integration with other devices in the Xiaomi ecosystem will be very smooth.
Well, what about without autonomous driving and parking functions. The Xiaomi SU7 car is equipped with high-quality sensors, radars, cameras and high-performance chips, which together with AI will take care of the most advanced functions, such as automatic car parking, smart driving, etc.
In the demo video below, you can see how this electric car pulls into a parking lot in real conditions, without the help of a driver, assesses the obstacles on the road in real time, assesses the situations and finally parks successfully.
For today, Xiaomi for its part has introduced 3 color variations for its first electric car. I personally like the Aqua Blue color the best and the most exclusive, but the other Verdant Green and Mineral Gray will also find their customers.
And the main question - how much will it cost? Unfortunately, nothing was said about the prices during the presentation, while other sources speculate that the price for the basic SU7 model with a 73.6kWh battery can reach around €25,000, and the SU7 Max (with 101kWh) can cost around €40,000.
