Unboxing
The NEWTRAL MagicH-BPro chair arrived from Geekmaxi electronic stores. The delivery from the European warehouse to Lithuania took a little more than a week, which was taken care of by the DPD courier. The shipment was not damaged during transportation, everything is nicely and compactly placed in a medium-sized box that weighs over 30 kg. It is true that one part box inside was a bit torn, but it did not cause any damage.
In the box itself we found: separately packed chair part, white gloves (why not?), assembly instructions, screws and necessary tools to assemble this MagicH-BPro ergonomic chair. The assembly itself took about 15 minutes.
First impressions
I assess the quality of assembly positively. The materials used really match the price. I don't have that feeling of frustration that I can hang on to because of cheap plastic, parts that don't go together or anything like that. Everything came together beautifully, it was fixed, you feel stable and comfortable when you sit down.
True, the only thing that caught my eye while assembling the chair was that the plastic/metal color of certain parts was different. For example, in the place where the footrest extends and folds, you can see that there are even 3 different shades. It would look nicer if the colors matched and there was integrity.
Well, to be honest, the color itself is so "peculiar". It takes me back 25 years when there were those big CRT monitors and it was such a grayish cream color like the plastic of those monitors. Of course, maybe it's a subjective thing because of the color, but if I had to choose now, I would definitely take the black model, which would be more practical, because it doesn't get dirty so easily.
Ergonomics
The NEWTRAL MagicH-BPro chair has a number of zones that can be adjusted and adapted to your needs. My height is about 185 cm and I always set my chair in the highest position. The knees are bent at about 90° degrees, and the seat rests comfortably on the soft base. I assume that the chair would ideally suit people up to 190cm.
The seat itself is soft, the fabric is pleasant and of high quality. I really don't feel any fatigue or that it would be uncomfortable to sit even for long hours at the desk. The armrests have 4 different height positions where they lock and also move forward and sideways.
The back support is strong, the mesh is durable and at the same time provides good air permeability. MagicH series models use spring-based technology for lower back support. You can choose a static position, where the spring locks and does not move, or you can set the support to automatically adjust to the waist.
Then you can adjust the resistance level by turning the orange "dial" installed at the back to one side or the other. I personally chose a fixed position, because after setting even on the MAX (highest) resistance, the spring is a bit too soft for me, it moves too easily.
Of course, as on other ergonomic chairs, you can choose the angle of inclination of the back. There are even 4 locking positions in total. If you decide to take a break on the chair, you can fully recline to 136° degree angle, pull out the footrest and comfortably lie down or even take a nap.
The head support has the same fabric mesh as the back support, only here it is a little less tight. The height, depth, and tilt angle are adjustable, so you will definitely find the most convenient and comfortable point for you.
The lower part of the chair (legs) is strong, the metal is covered with silver glossy paint, the wheels are aluminum with a softer plastic coating. It moves, drives easily in all directions, does not get stuck. I did not notice any scratches on the parquet until now. The chair itself rotates smoothly around its axis, everything is in order with the hydraulics for raising/lowering.
What did we like?
The NEWTRAL MagicH-BPro chair can truly be called an ergonomic chair. It is convenient when you can comfortably adjust everything according to your needs: height, back, arm, head support. The seat is soft, you don't feel tired even after staying for a longer period of time. I liked that the back support is breathable, so it won't cause discomfort due to sweating.
What we didn't like?
The gray model is quite greasy, not as practical as the black one. And that color is so dull for me personally, it does not give a visual "premium" image. After a few weeks of use, the following noises appeared, which most likely come from the connection points that are adjustable (back rests). But here it is probably normal, because the more expensive ergonomic chair I had before made similar sounds.
MagicH-BP vs MagicH-BPro
We can currently find 2 different models of this NEWTRAL MagicH chair on the market. The main differences are that the "BPro" model has a more adjustable headrest, the base of the wheels is made of aluminum (the BP model is made of iron). Also, the base of the "BPro" model (where the wheels are assembled) consists of two parts, so it should be somewhat more stable and durable.
Verdict
If you do a sedentary job or spend long hours playing computer games and you don't have a high-quality ergonomic chair yet, I would really suggest that you start thinking about it. NEWTRAL MagicH-BPro is an excellent value for money in my opinion. Similar models in Lithuania cost much more.
Personally, I might even recommend choosing the cheaper MagicH-BP model, which at the time of writing this review costs €199 with a promotion. The "BPro" model may visually look a bit more premium due to the base of the silver legs and has a more versatile adjustable headrest, but I don't know if it's really worth paying €60 more for those "upgrades".
And if you want to take care of a healthy lifestyle even more, a height-adjustable table such as ACGAM would be a perfect combination with a comfortable ergonomic chair. PS exactly ACGAM desk and was fitted at the time of this review, next to the NEWTRAL chair.
