What did we like?

  • Premium unboxing experience and quality made model
  • Great scooter geometry
  • Unique and eye-catching design with orange accents
  • The red TURBO button adds confidence and power. Haha!
  • It drives very stably and confidently even at higher speeds
  • A hook is made, the steering wheel can be conveniently picked up/raised when bent
  • Comfortable and ergonomic thumb throttle

What didn't we like?

  • There is no front mudguard and the rear one is not very effective either
  • Only single charging port, very long charging from 0 to 100%
  • Very little configuration options, no "ZERO START" setting
  • Weak front LED lights

Unboxing

Although the scooter traveled ~ 2 months. by trains and wagons - the protective box is slightly damaged, but the original inner Inokim box is beautiful, not folded, all the contents and the scooter itself arrived without any defects. The unboxing experience is very pleasant, assembling the aspirator took about 15 minutes. The steering wheel, rear mudguard and tires had to be inflated.

First impressions are very positive: high assembly quality, beautiful design, massive 60V 26Ah battery, enough power to climb even steeper hills (2*1000W). Of course, with such parameters, it is not surprising that the weight of this scooter is even 33 kg! You won't want to carry it even to the first floor, what if there was a 5th...

Quality

We don't have too many complaints here. The scooters arrived very carefully packed, so there were no transport damages. Assembled, it looks solid, made of quality materials and details, and no major problems have occurred during this period. It's true that the rear mud guard loosened after the first few rides, but when I tightened it, everything was fine. Nothing rattles, a gasket is already inserted in the folding mechanism (+an additional one came with it). The brakes had to be adjusted a little more so that they don't rub against the discs, and apart from that - you start driving!

Engines / Power

As you know, the OXO model has 2 motors of 1000W each (instantaneous power 2600W), which are fully sufficient to drive even up steeper hills. I tested it to drive up the steeper barbican hill in Vilnius with 2 motors without any problems - and with 1, unfortunately, it gets stronger after entering about 20-30% (tested with 85kg load). About other smaller hills like Ozo, Narbuto, etc. it's not worth talking, because it pulls over 50 km/h. Easy. Of course, those who expect a scooter with which they can shoot suddenly from a place - OXO will definitely not be the No. 1 choice, because its acceleration is made soft and even. If you want a sudden acceleration from a standstill - then it's better to take ZERO 10X/11X or Kaabo Mantis.

Suspension / Shock absorbers

Many people are skeptical about single forks, but we calmly drove those 200 km both on smooth roads and forest off-roads (there was also extreme) and there were no problems. Of course, 200km is not much for such a scooter, but there are people who have passed 2000km+ and continue to ride as well as possible. New OXOs come with HIGH and HIGH+ shock absorber adapters (sleeves) - we put on HIGH+ with more softness and comfort. In principle, sometimes you would like to have an even softer ride (especially off-road), but if it starts to spin too much - then stability will decrease and driving will become difficult.

MAX speed

Taken out of the box, the scooter is equipped with a 25 km/h limiter, but "unlocking" it to speed up to the max is very simple and elementary. You will need to press the buttons on the steering wheel several times and that's it. With a fully charged battery on a flat road, a load of about 85 kg and 2 engines - we managed to reach a speed of 60 km/h (OXO officially declares up to 65 km/h), but we squeezed out about 68 km/h from a smaller hill. It is true that there will not be much place to drive at such speeds in the city, but sometimes it is fun to push on a straight line. Of course, only if you're sure it's safe, ride with a helmet and don't pose a threat to others. A helmet is definitely a must, no matter how good you rate your driving skills!

ZOOM Brakes

The Inokim OXO comes with hydraulic Zoom brakes, which may not be the best, but they do the job well and adequately. There were never any blockages or malfunctions or anything else. As we mentioned at the beginning, it only needed a little adjustment to avoid rubbing against the discs and that was it. The brake knobs are easy and comfortable to press, but the braking distance and efficiency depends on various conditions, so we won't comment too much here. In other words, the brakes work, the stock Zooms are more than enough for us, although we have already seen the latest OXO models come from the factory with a different set of XOD XD-D700 brakes. It will be interesting to get people's feedback about them, whether they are better, etc.

Battery / Charging

In our opinion, the 25.6Ah battery is just right for such a scooter. Of course, there will never be a "battery with too much capacity", but the bigger it is, the weight increases accordingly. One of the minuses is that a full battery charge takes even about 13-14 hours, that is, if you actually return home in the evening with an empty battery, you should immediately plug it in and charge it, so that it is fully charged when you wake up in the morning. On the other hand - do you really ride 50-60 km every day? Unless working with Wolt/Bolt, then probably yes. Anyways, fast charge option, double charging slot like on ZERO would be an advantage, maybe Inokim will think of something with the next update of its OX / OXO. When running at higher speeds - the real driving distance would be about 35-50 km, when driving more economically - it is possible to squeeze out some 70-80 km. For us personally, the battery was enough for everything.

Driving experience

Inokim OXO drives comfortably and stably. Even at a speed of 50-60 km/h - we feel safe and secure. We got used to the higher speed very quickly, so after a while driving at 35-40km/h seems somehow normal, maybe even too slow (haha). Lying down policemen can be safely and quickly passed, especially if you jump a little before the start of the hill. Well, if you want it to be even harder, you can jump completely - you just need to practice, because the scooter weighs 33 kg.

Driving on off-road roads is also very fun, it's a pity we didn't have off-road tires, because it would have been completely different then. Of course, it also depends on the type of off-road road. If only tree roots, coarser gravel, etc. - then you won't want to run quickly, because there is too much shaking... If there is a better forest road - then it is something else entirely, and a very fun experience!

What did you like/dislike?

I liked that there is a glowing red LED light at the back, which is useful in darker days and warns other road users, unfortunately, although the front LED lights look nice, they are quite weak and not enough to drive comfortably. You need to put something more powerful on the steering wheel.

The stand base is wide and long, and the end of it folds up (the mudguard part), which is also comfortable to lean on. The base is full enough to stand up with your legs close together, in other words, there is a lot of space. The surface itself is plastic, so if you touch it, it can become slippery to stand on it.

It is worth noting that the scooter is quite large and heavy (33 kg), so even when folded in half it can hardly fit in the trunk. If you have to carry a lot of stairs - oh, then you will have to exercise... What else could be better - better mudguards. In the back it's still ok, but in the front you can say it's not there at all. We saw someone make their own mount and put the same Inokim mudguard as the rear on the front wheel. So if it is necessary - you can come up with solutions for it.

And from the last minuses - it is not possible (with the stock version) to make the scooter start from a place, which would really help if you had to move on some kind of hill or "get stuck" in the forest on a very steep mountain. Well, such situations may not happen to you at all, and vice versa, the absence of "zero start" will save you in situations when you accidentally press the gas.

Verdict

In our opinion, this OXO scooter is designed for those who value comfort, design and a pleasant riding experience, whether it is a daily commute or just a leisure vehicle. If you want mobility, compactness, sudden acceleration from a standstill - this scooter is definitely not for you. However, if you are looking for a reliable, beautiful, qualitatively assembled, comfortable and powerful scooter - Inokim OXO is definitely worth your attention! Of course, not for €2300, but for €1700 it's a completely different language!
