When the Tronsmart Bang 2 takes the stage, the music no longer plays in the background, but becomes the main part of the evening. The 90W speaker promises strong sound, bright bass and LED lighting adapted for parties. The manufacturer also declares a battery life of up to 26 hours and IPX6 water resistance, so theoretically you can take it anywhere. Maybe these are just loud promises, but is the Tronsmart Bang 2 still a worthy choice? Neighbors, don't be angry, this review will not be quiet!

Unboxing
The contents of the package are quite simple – inside I find a USB-C cable, a carrying strap and instructions. The speaker itself is packed neatly, there is no shortage of protection, so there should be no problems during transportation. The strap fastens quickly, adjusts easily and is really useful, because the Bang 2 is not a small or light speaker. The charging cable is of standard length, and the instructions are clear and informative enough.

First impressions
However, the most important thing here is not the accessories, but the star of the evening - the Tronsmart Bang 2. When you take the speaker out of the box, you immediately feel that this is not a cheaply assembled product. The body is sturdy, the plastic is high-quality, and the entire structure looks solid. The design is quite familiar - the elongated shape, integrated handle, and passive radiators decorated with LED lighting on the sides are reminiscent of other popular models of this type.

The top has integrated control buttons and a battery indicator, while the back hides water-resistant USB, AUX, SD card and USB-C connectors. Compared to the previous Bang model, we have more power and a larger battery. At least the first impression allows us to hope that this speaker is focused not only on loud sound, but also on longer use without additional charging.

Battery
The previous Bang model had a smaller 6000 mAh battery and 60W power, while the Tronsmart Bang 2 now offers a 9000 mAh battery and 90W power. The manufacturer claims up to 26 hours of battery life, but this result is only achieved when listening to music at low volume and with the LED lighting turned off.

During testing, I used the speaker in a work environment with a volume of about 20%, SoundPulse mode turned on, and the LED lighting active. In these conditions, the battery lasted about 16 hours, which is still a very good result. An additional advantage is that the speaker can act as an external battery to charge a phone or other device.

Functionality
Nowadays, everyone is used to a wireless world with as few wires and cables as possible. However, Tronsmart is going its own way here, which I quite like. On the back of the Tronsmart Bang 2, I found waterproof AUX, USB and SD card connectors, so I can play music not only via Bluetooth, but also in old, time-tested ways. In my eyes, this is a big plus, because you will rarely find such functions in other portable speakers. After inserting a USB drive or SD card, I can control the music both with the buttons on the speaker itself and via the app on my phone.

Another fun addition is the LED lighting. Tronsmart really loves LED effects, and the Bang 2 model has them in abundance. The passive radiators on the sides have several different lighting modes that respond to the rhythm of the music. When the music is playing quietly, the lights move calmly and the colors change slowly. When the volume is turned up, everything comes alive and starts moving to the rhythm of the music.

The speaker also has a built-in microphone, so I can answer calls directly through it. If you don't feel like talking, you can reject the call with one button. The microphone quality is good enough for everyday conversations, although if you turn the volume up higher, the other person may sometimes hear a slight echo.

App
The Tronsmart app lets you adjust the volume, change LED effects, select sound modes, and use the 5-band equalizer. It also lets you enable the SoundPulse feature, connect two speakers into a stereo system, and select a music source.
The app itself is not bad, but it is annoying that almost every time you open it, you have to manually search for the speaker again and connect. The process is not very long, but it starts to get annoying with frequent use.

Sound quality
Under the fabric cover is a 2.1 system with two tweeters and one oval-shaped woofer and midrange speaker. Passive radiators on the sides also contribute to the low frequencies.

This entire speaker system produces a really powerful and clear sound. The volume is more than enough for a small room, and the powerful bass easily vibrates the crockery in the cupboard. The sound of music remains quite clean even when the volume is turned up a lot, although at maximum level the low frequencies begin to dominate more than we would like.

SoundPulse mode significantly boosts the sound and bass. You can hear the difference right away, so this feature is really useful in a party environment. However, when listening quietly, the bass sometimes becomes a bit too aggressive and there are moments when the speaker seems to „drop“ the bass for a short time. Interestingly, this problem disappears when the volume is turned up.

What we didn't like?
As much as I praise Tronsmart products, there are things that need to be fixed with the Bang 2 model. The biggest minus for me was the app connection process. Every time you open it, you have to search for the speaker again and connect manually. After going through this process, sometimes you don't even want to connect the app because you already know that it's a long process.

During testing, I noticed one nuance - when SoundPulse mode is turned on and listening at a very low volume, minor interference occurs. At a volume level of about 10-15 %, the speaker sometimes seems to muffle, and the sound weakens for a short time. It seems that every third beat the speaker turns off the low frequencies. However, when the volume is increased, this problem disappears and the speaker works properly.

I also didn't like the very loud switching on and off sounds. In the evening or at night, they can really be too loud. Another strange solution is the sound warning when the maximum volume is reached, which interrupts the music for a few seconds. After all, when your favorite song is playing, you want to get loud as soon as possible.

Verdict
After testing the Tronsmart Bang 2, it becomes clear that there are some things that need to be fixed, but this speaker leaves a very good impression. The sound it produces is strong and powerful. While listening to music with this speaker, I received attention from many people. When I told them that it costs less than 100 euros, they were very surprised.

Naturally, in some aspects it may be inferior to more expensive competitors. However, the most important thing is that when choosing Tronsmart you do not overpay for the logo or marketing costs, so for an attractive price you get a solid, well-assembled item with pleasantly surprising sound quality. In my opinion, the Tronsmart Bang 2 is an ideal choice for those looking for a good price-quality ratio.
