HONOR has launched the new Magic9 Pro Max, a premium phone featuring dual 200MP cameras, ARRI imaging solutions, and an ultra-large 8,800mAh battery. The model has already debuted in China, with no details on its European launch yet.
The main highlight is the camera system with two 200 MP modules. The main camera has a 1/1.28" sensor and an f/1.57 aperture, while the periscope telephoto lens uses a 1/1.4" sensor; the system is complemented by a 50 MP ultra-wide-angle camera and a 3D depth sensor.
HONOR has also paid close attention to stabilization, with both the main and telephoto cameras rated at CIPA 8.0. The 85mm telephoto lens is designed for portraits and close-ups, while the additional stabilization should help with handheld photography and videography.
The ARRI LogC3 profile is implemented for filming on the phone, allowing you to save more information for later color correction. It also supports the ARRI color system and Look Library, so you can choose different cinematic color profiles when filming.
ARRI color profiles allow you to give the same shot a completely different mood – from warmer to cooler or more neutral tones. This is especially relevant for those who not only take photos with their phone, but also create more serious video content.
On the front, there is a 6.8-inch LTPO OLED display with an adaptive refresh rate of 1-120 Hz. The manufacturer also emphasizes reinforced screen protection, which should better protect against impacts and damage during daily use.
„The Magic9 Pro Max can be transformed into a much more serious photography or videography tool. HONOR offers external telephoto lenses, a special shooting handle, and a SmallRig frame with additional handles and mounting points for other equipment.
In China, the HONOR Magic9 Pro Max starts at around €850 for the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage version. The 12GB + 512GB model costs around €920, the 16GB + 512GB model costs around €985, and the most expensive 16GB + 1TB version costs around €1,115. This is a direct conversion of Chinese prices based on the current exchange rate.
