The Snapmaker U1 features a SnapSwap system with four individual print heads that automatically swap in about 5 seconds. This solution allows you to print with multiple colors or different materials with almost no need for the usual long filament cleaning, and the manufacturer claims up to 85% less waste.
The individual printheads are particularly noticeable on complex multi-color models. In the manufacturer's comparison, the U1 does the same job 70.6 % faster, while reducing waste from 586.02g to 87.42g - a whopping 85.1 %.
The CoreXY design allows for movement speeds of up to 500 mm/s while maintaining precise and stable movements. The 270 × 270 × 270 mm build area provides enough space for both everyday models and larger projects.
The automatic calibration system takes care of the most important settings before printing. The U1 aligns the position of the individual heads, compensates for vibrations, automatically optimizes the material feed and helps form an even first layer.
