Unboxing

The Roborock Dyad Pro Combo, otherwise known as my "vacuum cleaner" arrived from Geekbuying via e-mail. store Polish warehouse. Since the warehouse is in Europe, there was no need to pay any duty. The package arrived in 4 days with the help of DPD couriers.

As is usual, the manufacturer of Roborock additionally packs its product into a transport box. In this way, the probability of damage to the product during the journey is reduced. No exception for this Dyad Pro Combo model. The product had no "travel" damage when removed from this box.

Quality

Judging by the plastic of the whole product, it looks cheap like its predecessor, but it is strong, I think it should last for many years. The removable tips are stiff and don't wobble when put on. If compared to the first Roborock Dyad Pro, the quality is one to one.

The handle on the Roborock Dyad Pro Combo housing is sturdy, snaps into place and locks quite firmly, requiring some force to remove. It has 3 buttons on top: on/off, power selection and self-cleaning. 

As in the first model, in this one as well, the water containers fit neatly and easily. Dirty water capacity 770ml, clean water 950ml. Only in this model, the clean water tank is located on the back side of the pump structure.

The washing rollers look high-quality, no extra protruding threads are visible, they are very similar to the rollers intended for painting. It fits into the housing rigidly, but sometimes it likes to get out of its place if the pump is not pushed forward, but to the side.

The pump handle has two buttons: on/off and power selection. The screen is mounted on the pump body. Displays the remaining battery level %, activated suction program, level of coating dirt. In order to remove the pump from the suction/washing body, you just need to press the "eject" button and hold the handle and tilt it down. Fits comfortably, no special movements are required. The weight of this body, together with the motor, is about 5.5 kg without filled water tanks. After filling the water and detergent containers, the pump becomes heavier by about 1 kg. 

The body of the charging/cleaning station is made of thinner plastic, so it bends easily. The connecting tray to hold the rest of the bits has a slightly thicker body, possibly due to more use, to withstand the friction that occurs. All nozzles have their place. The place for the collected garbage tank is not well thought out, it would sound more like "it will be good to put it here too".

The novelty of this model is the removable pump motor to which the garbage container is connected separately, and suction nozzles are required for it. Both rotating brushes have a motor, so battery power is additionally used. The extension rod can be used with both rotating brushes, convenient if you want to reach somewhere further. The roller of the smaller brush can be removed, but not the larger one, I don't understand why this decision is made.

Functionality

The charging/cleaning station is designed not only to charge the Roborock Dyad Pro Combo pump, but also to clean and dry the rollers after use. Control through the APP - after starting it, a short introductory animation starts. The display of buttons on the main screen depends on the status of the pump.

After opening the app when the "vacuum cleaner" is inserted into the station, the following buttons are visible:

• Gear (settings);

• Activating the cleaning function;

• Activating the drying function.

After pressing the gear (settings button):

• Self-cleaning mode:

• Balanced

• Deep

• Enabling/disabling the automatic cleaning function;

• Drying interval from 1h to 6h (one hour accuracy)

After removing it from the dock, the menu of the app changes to the following layout:

• Gear (settings);

• Possible suction modes:

• Car - the pump itself will decide what power to pump

• MAX - maximum suction power mode

• Floor Drying - floor dry cleaning mode

• Eco Mode - power saving mode

To start vacuuming/washing, you can place your foot on the left side of the nozzle of the washing/vacuum body and, while holding it, bend the handle down. Thus, it will read that the pump is unlocked and can be used for work, after pressing the activation button - the pump will start working. If the Roborock Dyad Pro Combo is set to turn on automatically through the additional settings, after unlocking, the pump will automatically start working.

After cleaning is finished and the handle is moved back to the locked position, the pump will turn off. The suction power and water flow intensity are represented by the blue/red line on the screen. This technology is called DirTect by Roborock.

The sensor sees where there is more dirt and the surface to be cleaned and accordingly increases or decreases the suction power and water flow. When plotting the changes, the middle of the blue line changes to red where there is more dirt.

After vacuuming/washing, the cleaning program starts when it is inserted into the "dock". Or you can simply press the flush button on the handle. The cleaning process continues by taking clean water and pouring it onto rotating fabric rollers. In other words, it simulates surface cleaning, only it is done on the spot - at the stop.

Dirty water is collected in a separate water tank. If there is no clean water or the dirty water tank is full, the cleaning program is not executed. After entering the additional menu of the application, it is possible to choose whether to start the cleaning program automatically after the stop and how long the drying will be carried out afterwards.

After this procedure, a voice message sounds through the built-in speaker reminding you not to forget to empty the accumulated dirty water. After the "bathing" procedure, the drying function is activated. During it, the rollers are rotated regularly to ensure even drying.

In order to use the individual accessories from the set, the main part of the pump must be removed from the cleaning body. There is a separate button for this action, it is conveniently removed by pressing it and tilting the motor. The next step would be to place the waste container and the nozzle of your choice. In this type of suction, you can choose from several suction powers: Auto and MAX. The desired mode can be changed by pressing the button on the pump handle. There are no options in the APP, only what nozzle variations are available are displayed.

What did we like?

Fits comfortably and easily into the cleaning/charging station. No additional steps are required for the Roborock Dyad Pro Combo to find its place. After the law, the pump starts charging or the cleaning function is activated.

Long battery life - 80m² can be cleaned using 35-40% batteries using AUTO mode when washing and vacuuming at the same time. If used without a rotating nozzle, the battery is consumed less - 15-20%.

In order not to clog the sink, after removing the dirty water container and pulling out the plastic, its design has a separate hole scoop. When dirty water is poured through it, the colander collects bigger dirt. After that, it is convenient to throw the accumulated "property" into the trash.

The vacuum cleaner is easy to maneuver between objects placed on the ground, as well as between furniture due to the built-in folding mechanisms. It does not matter whether the pump is installed in the large housing or combined with additional accessories.

A very big plus of this house cleaner is that you can vacuum and wash at the same time. Without problems, such a mass as tomato sauce, mustard and the like is astringent. If there is, for example, a large sofa, with the accessories included in the set, cleaning procedures can also be performed on it.

Convenient button placement on both handles. After using it once, it is easy to remember and in the future there will be no problems with the wrong click.

The manufacturer took into account the feedback and wishes of customers and integrated the function of the amount of detergent. This setting can be changed after removing it from the charging station and opening the Roborock application on the smartphone by pressing the "settings" icon.

What we didn't like?

The first model had a problem with poor drying of the rollers. In this one, this problem is gone, but another one has appeared. If even a small amount of dirty water is left, its smell is transmitted to the environment. After pouring before cleaning, this smell is gone. Additionally, I will add that the function of quick drying of the rollers is no longer available.

If, after wet floor cleaning, there is a need to vacuum something additionally using separate accessories, after removing the motor from the cleaning station, the drying of the rollers stops. Well, at least the plus is that the smell of undried rollers is not noticeable.

You need to get used to the angle of the cleaning/washing position, because if you lean too far forward, the pump shuts off because it locks. When vacuuming/cleaning stairs, the locking function is activated more often due to excessive forward tilt. Do not tilt lower (back) than 60⁰ to prevent water from getting into the engine or dirty water draining.

When used with additional attachments and a long rod, it becomes difficult to grab something from the ground. In this case, you need to turn off the pump and put it somewhere. When propped against a wall, it often slips and falls to the ground, placing it on the ground causes additional back bending.

During the winter, when a lot of dirt is brought in from the outside, the rotating mechanisms "splash" the dirt forward due to too fast rotation. Also, if the trash is larger, I would ask that it be placed in the trash container when the tip is placed on it rather than when trying to drive over it.

A separate pump container is the biggest file of the device designer-designer. After disconnecting from the attachment, debris sometimes falls through the connection point. When placing the garbage container in its designated place in the extension of the station, the air filter falls out, and everything around is covered with fine dust. Even if the shaken container is placed somewhere, it must be placed very carefully so that it does not fall out and requires additional cleaning.

Also, before the container itself was worn, it was much easier to put on, now that small particles of sand have scratched the exact place where it is put on, it has become more difficult to do. Personally, I manage to apply it properly about 3 times.

Both this and the old model have a problem when vacuuming the carpet. Sometimes the rollers want to "go for a walk" from their places. If the carpet has long piles, the pump often turns off due to the load and thinking that it is stuck.

Verdict

Roborock excels at creating devices that make household chores easier. Robotic pumps occupy a large share of the market, so I think it is difficult to compete with them. However, it is more convenient when only one push of a button is enough for the home helper to start rotating around the house.

Is Dyad Pro Combo worth buying?

If you have a home with more than one floor, it is much more convenient to clean the premises by doing several jobs at once, ie vacuuming accumulated dust from shelves, furniture, hard-to-reach corners and finishing the cleaning with an effective wet floor cleaning.

Yes, a robot vacuum cleaner can also take care of cleaning the floor, but e.g. it won't go up stairs, well, unless you have the desire to lift one flight of stairs at a time, ha ha. It should be an interesting video, although there is a video where people vacuum car trunks with a robot pump...

The biggest advantage of the Roborock Dyad Pro Combo is that it can effectively vacuum/vacuum various liquids, sauces, broken eggs on the floor, etc., which a robot vacuum cannot do. Hard-to-reach corners become an easier challenge with the additional rotating attachments from the Roborock Dyad Pro Combo.

Before cleaning the floor of the room, you can quickly run past the bed, sofa, armchair or similar soft furniture. The dust on the bookshelves can be easily cleaned using the gap nozzle with a small broom included in the set.

After tidying up the whole house, if you still have energy left, you can run through the car interior at the same time. Roborock Dyad Pro Combo allows you to organize your home more universally using only one device. The item is good, but its price is already hurting your wallet. I suggest you evaluate very carefully whether you need such a set.
