Unboxing
The Kaabo Wolf Warrior X Pro electric scooter has arrived from e-shop. stores at DHgate. At the time when I ordered, it was possible to ship this model only from the Chinese warehouse, so the entire shipment took about 2 months in total. until it reached Lithuania. All taxes and duties were taken care of by the seller, so you didn't have to pay anything extra. True, currently Warrior X / X Pro models can be ordered with faster delivery from the EU warehouse, which takes only 1-2 weeks. You will find suggestions at the end of the review.
Quality
Just like its big brother Kaabo Wolf KING, this model also has good build quality and a strong double steering frame. One of the differences is that the Wolf X folds in a different place, making it more compact and easier to fit in a car. And let's add the fact that it is also much lighter - it weighs about 33kg (KING - 48kg). That difference in kilograms is very noticeable, in a good way. As for the frame, it would be much better and more practical if Kaabo didn't put those LED lights, but left strong protective bars around the parking base (like on KING).
Specifications
Our tested Kaabo Wolf X Pro beast has 2*1100W motors, 27A Minimotors controller, 60V 28Ah Samsung battery, ZOOM hydraulic brakes, 10" wheels and a speed of 70km/h+. A very solid set of parameters (apart from ZOOM brakes). On the other hand, when you ride the KING and then get on the X Pro, it's very noticeable in the instant power and slower acceleration.
If KING just barks out of place, this little brother is a little softer and calmer - but still a beast. While driving the "100 km track" in the forests of the mountain and mountain peaks, there were several hills that the X Pro had a hard time going up or needed a little kicking, while the colleague on the KING, although with rotating wheels, went up solidly.
Wolf X PRO vs Wolf KING
But which model did we personally like better? On the one hand, KING is simply a monster both in terms of its power and speed, but I still enjoyed riding in the woods with the Wolf X Pro. Why? First of all, because of its weight. It's just that it's much easier to maneuver and control the scooter than a lighter scooter, and secondly, I still didn't fully use the KING's power relay on the forest trails (except for the mentioned individual hills). With the Wolf X Pro, the ride is so much more pleasant, easier, less tiring of the hands, it is like such a small fun tricycle.
Comfort vs Stability
Riding on forest tracks, gravel roads, light off-road or other rough roads with the Kaabo Wolf Warrior X Pro has two sides of the coin. On the one hand, you feel better about the scooter itself, better stability and you are more confident about driving control, but on the other hand - all those bumps, potholes, roots, fallen branches, etc. transmits vibrations quite strongly to the entire scooter. Because of this, the legs and arms are thrown off more than when riding a scooter with a softer suspension, e.g. VSETT 10+, Zero 10X, etc. And what is more needed: stability or comfort - it is up to each individual. Stability and better handling of the scooter are more important to me when riding in the woods.
What did we like?
Riding the Wolf X Pro is a lot of fun on various roads, and the most fun is through forests. Stiffer shock absorbers provide more stability and steering control needed on off-road tracks. The Minimotors controller and EY3 display ensure high-quality performance of the scooter, the throttle is sensitive and accurately (with absolutely minimal delay) transmits signals to the motors. And this is a very important aspect.
The lights in the front, as on the KING model, are dazzlingly bright, so even at night they perfectly illuminate the road. The horn is very loud, so use sparingly and do not scare passers-by. Turn signals and brake signals can help to avoid misunderstandings on the road, and the LED lights (neonkes) underneath - look beautiful in the darkest part of the day. And finally, I will repeat that the folding mechanism is different from the KING, which makes the scooter more compact (shorter) and easier to fit in the car.
What could be better?
The first batches of Wolf X had a problem with a too short/too soft rear shock absorber, which resulted in the rear wheel touching the mudguard when driving over potholes or lying cops. Of course we informed the dealer and he sent longer/harder shock absorbers a few weeks later which fixed the problem.
Also, it gets a lot of dirt into the rear shock absorbers because there are no guards. Well, here is the same problem as on Warrior II / Warrior KING. You will have to clean it regularly or come up with some home-made solution for this (maybe the updated GT Pro will have guards).
When the scooter is folded in half, there is no hook to hang it on. Thus, the steering frame does not lock to the lower part and there are inconveniences and problems when lifting or taking the scooter somewhere. There is nowhere to comfortably and easily take those 33 kg.
The "Single/Dual" and "ECO/Turbo" buttons on the steering wheel are updated, but they are completely black and there are no LEDs to show when single, dual, eco or turbo modes are engaged. Of course, you can press and understand while driving, but I think that Kaabo could have come up with a better solution (in reality, it was necessary to copy the turn buttons with LED lights).
ZOOM hydraulic brakes are not the best and most reliable option. We would like such more expensive scooters to be equipped with more serious options, well at least Kaabo could make an optional choice of which brakes we want in the kit.
Verdict
In short, I really liked the scooter and if I had to choose an optimal and high-quality off-road option, it would be the Wolf Warrior X Pro. Yes, KING is more powerful and faster, but the smaller brother has just as much beast in him. Let's add the fact that the Wolf X Pro is more compact, much lighter, which makes it easier and more pleasant to curb it on the road.
We are considering, maybe for the next season to take and test the updated GT Pro, but as far as we have been able to find information, the model will be more massive and will weigh 52 kg?! If this is true, it is not really worth it, because basically it will be something similar to the current KING.
