HiBREW H2B
Assessment:
What did we like?
What didn't we like?
The Hibrew H2B coffee machine can make coffee both from capsules of well-known coffee manufacturers, as well as from sachets or ground coffee. The power of this unit is 1450W. A water pressure of 19 bar is used to press the coffee.
Unboxing
Arrived from the Polish warehouse in 3 days, incredibly fast! The shipment was initially handled by DHL, and then by Itella to the home. Since the coffee machine was waiting, a larger shipment was expected. When I received the package in my hands, it seemed strange, because it was very small. The total weight of the package was only ~3.75kg. The weight of the coffee machine itself is ~ 2.8 kg. Dimensions 245x110x245 mm.
Our test model is black, glossy. A 600ml water tank is attached to the coffee machine from the back. This capacity is enough for 3-4 standard size cups. Above you can see the water level indicator lights and next to it 3 buttons: on/off, dispenser control, coffee preparation start button.
The set includes: a coffee machine, 4 nozzles for different types of coffee, one of which is 2in1, a ground coffee spoon, the other end of which is designed to compress the inserted ground coffee, an adapter for adding water to the coffee machine itself when using it for the first time or after a long period of non-use, and two types of cups ground coffee.
Functionality
After unpacking the coffee machine, you must first wash all the parts that will come into contact with food. One of the main details is the water container. It has a black cover on the top that comes off by clicking on the sides and pulling up. Quite an odd solution, why couldn't it just be a top opening?
When turning on the coffee machine for the first time, it is necessary to fill the water pump with the dedicated nozzle. The upper part is pulled out from the top of the nozzle. Then a little water is added to the lower part and when the upper part is put back in, it needs to be clicked a little to get the water into the system. The next step is to place a water container, which must be dipped through the rubber "faucet" at the top and insert this container into the opening of the water pump.
Coffee preparation
After the preparations, the next step is to choose what kind of coffee you want to taste. If it will be from capsules, then you need to choose a capsule nozzle (adapter), if it is ground coffee, then the appropriate nozzle for it. The same principle applies to coffee in coffee bags.
After choosing the type of coffee and taking the corresponding adapter, it is inserted into the coffee machine and the silver-colored lever is folded. The power button is pressed. When pressed once, it lights up in red - which means a hot drink will be made, if pressed and held for ~2 seconds, the power button lights up in blue - which means a cold drink will be made.
When preparing a hot drink, the dispenser and cooking button will flash, which indicates that the machine is heating up. This takes about 10 seconds. After this procedure, if capsules, such as Dolce Gusto, are used, all that remains is to select the specified amount of water on the capsule itself by pressing the dispenser button. When preparing a cup of ground coffee, the amount of water can be determined according to the size of the cup, knowing that ~ 230 ml of coffee will be produced after setting the maximum allowed rate. Green lights light up to indicate the selected quantity.
The last step is to press the brew button. After pressing it, the appliance turns on and starts making coffee. The green lights go out one by one, indicating the end of the cooking process. To stop the cooking process earlier, just click the cooking button again. That's it, the coffee is ready. For the preparation of a cold drink, the coffee machine does not chill the water, that is, only the same water from the container is used.
What did we like?
As the saying goes, don't judge a book by its cover. And so in this case, although the device is small, it is powerful and versatile. You can buy various capsules and not worry. Compatible with capsules: Nespresso, Dolce Gusto, Kcup, and ESE bags.
Although it has a lot of power, it doesn't make a lot of noise. After the coffee is made, you can safely leave it on. It has a non-use timer, after which the device will turn off. Holds cups of various sizes. You don't need to buy a separate cup service to enjoy aromatic coffee.
Easy to wash all parts. Especially if it has dripped a little or the wrong water level has been chosen, the lower grid is easy to remove and can be washed quickly.
What we didn't like?
When you finish making coffee, take your time to pull out the cup. Coffee is a bit tired from the adapter because it does not have a drip closure function. The water capacity is only 600ml. In other words no more than 4 standard size cups. Well at least the water doesn't stagnate, it's just that putting the water tank in is a bit awkward.
The adapter for certain capsules has a needle to puncture them. Care must be taken not to accidentally put this needle in your finger, especially when washing the adapter. Adapters could be labeled which is which. It is easy to understand which one is for ground coffee, but for capsules, you need to remember which capsule to use.
Verdict
After purchasing coffee machines of well-known, popular manufacturers, in which only capsules intended for them are placed, you become bound only to their products. In addition, ground coffee cannot be added to such machines. This Hebreww H2B is compact and very versatile. If you love coffee, the new friend is a "must have" in every home where there are coffee lovers who cannot afford to buy a bigger and more expensive coffee machine.
With the price and versatility of this H2B model, it's a perfect buy that doesn't require much investment or maintenance. Especially if you are the only coffee lover at home. You pour water, put coffee in, press the button and you can enjoy aromatic coffee.
