Bambu Lab is preparing a surprise: H3C with 9 tools and the mysterious P3C

2026-10-30

Nine interchangeable printing tools, less plastic waste, and potentially faster printing - this is what the new Bambu Lab H3C, scheduled for delivery on November 3, may stand out. But that's not all - the mysterious P3C with seven tool slots has also been spotted in certification documents.

Bamboo Lab H3C

On October 23, Bambu Lab officially announced the H3C and released a short video demonstrating the nine-tool change system. It shows an automatically moving holder that holds individual printing tools. However, the manufacturer has not yet revealed all the technical details of this system.

One of the biggest advantages of such a design could be more efficient multi-color printing. In conventional systems, changing colors through the same nozzle requires removing the remnants of the previous plastic, which creates additional waste. Using separate tools could theoretically reduce this process and save time, but specific results from H3C have not yet been published.

Bamboo Lab P3C

Although Bambu Lab has not yet officially launched the P3C, its name has been recorded in US FCC and Japanese radio equipment certification documents. Photos published in Japan show a gray, enclosed printer with a touchscreen and seven numbered tool storage slots.

The P3C is similar in design to the H3C, but the certification photos show two fewer tool positions. Given the manufacturer's product lineup, it can be assumed that the P3C will be a more affordable alternative, but for now this is just an assumption. Neither the print volume, nor the speed, nor the final configuration or price are known.

Delivery and prices

The official launch of the Bambu Lab H3C is scheduled for November 3, 2026, at 4 p.m. Lithuanian time. It is expected that the manufacturer will reveal more technical specifications, tool change system operation, configurations, and prices during the event. However, it has not yet been confirmed whether sales will begin immediately after the launch.

Meanwhile, the P3C's launch date remains unknown. The model listed in the certification documents does not mean that it will be released soon or will be launched alongside the H3C.

Bambu Lab's new printers could be a significant step forward in multi-color and multi-material 3D printing. But the big question remains: will the new tool-changing system actually print faster, use less plastic, and offer a significant enough advantage over the manufacturer's current models?
