Bambu Lab is known for its „plug and play“ experience: lots of automatic calibrations and less manual tuning. The P2S is a closed-chamber FDM printer with a 256 × 256 × 256 mm build volume, designed for fast and clean everyday printing. The P2S Combo is the same printer, but with the addition of the AMS 2 Pro for multi-color and multi-material printing. The P2S has a 5" touchscreen (854 × 480), which allows you to conveniently control printing and view the most important information. The P2S uses a PMSM servo extruder that controls the feed in real time and extrudes plastic more stably at higher flow rates. It claims up to 8.5 kg of feed force and 20 kHz control, so there is less chance of filament twisting or jamming during high-speed prints. In practice, this results in smoother extrusion in corners and where speed changes frequently.
Active Flow Compensation automatically calibrates and adjusts how much plastic is actually being extruded through the nozzle. The system responds to changes in flow and adjusts the feed for smoother layers and more accurate walls. This is especially noticeable on small parts, bends and transitions between areas of different thickness. Simply put, less „waving“ and a cleaner surface.
P2S has a quick-change nozzle solution, so maintenance and nozzle replacement take much less time. Most often, a 0.4 mm hardened steel nozzle is included, and 0.2 / 0.6 / 0.8 mm sizes are also supported. This way, you can choose between maximum detail or faster prototypes with one printer. Less hassle with tools, more time printing.
The AMS 2 Pro included in the P2S Combo allows you to automatically control multiple filaments and print multi-color or multi-material models. A big plus is the active plastic drying and closed storage system, which helps to avoid moisture problems. The maximum drying temperature reaches up to 65°C, so you get more stable printing and a cleaner surface, especially with PETG or other more sensitive materials.
The P2S is designed to maintain quality at higher speeds, so cooling is a serious consideration. The closed chamber has controlled airflow, and a carbon filter helps keep odors and air out of the way. When printing PLA/PETG, efficient cooling helps keep bridges and corners cleaner. This is one of the reasons why the P2S prints well, not only fast, but also cleanly.
